Boxing career Riorden was invited to spend the summer on the Akwesasne Reservation by teammate Ty Thompson following his freshman season at Albany, where he would play box lacrosse for the first time as a forward. He would play Junior B lacrosse for the Akwesasne Indians, returning every summer during his collegiate career, and then traveling to Brampton, Ontario to play Senior A box after his college career, eventually winning a spot with the Buffalo Bandits in 2017 and playing nine games before being released. The Philadelphia Wings would subsequently sign Riorden for their inaugural season in 2018.

The Rochester Rattlers selected Riorden 51st overall in the 2016 MLL Draft.
